Jane's Place - COVID-19 Response

Dear Participants and Families,

I wanted to take this opportunity to address the growing information on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and what we will continue to do to help prevent viruses from spreading in our facility.

Here at Jane’s Place our #1 priority is the safety of our participants, families, volunteers and staff. We are monitoring the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Iowa Department of Public Health and Scott County Health Department.

We are committed to regular and thorough cleaning, using cleaning solutions meant to stop the spread of viruses.  We have installed hand-sanitizing stations throughout the entire facility with sanitizer that meets the alcohol requirements to help prevent the spread of viruses.  We encourage each participant to wash their hands and use hand-sanitizer on a routine basis.

While our community works through this health concern, Jane’s Place has taken extra steps to help protect everyone. During this time, Jane’s Place has locked their primary entrance and a doorbell has been placed.  Please, ring this doorbell and staff will greet you.  All participants and family members wishing to enter Jane’s Place will be screened. During this screening, our trained staff will take your temperature and ask if anyone in your immediate family, or anyone else you have been in close contact with, has traveled within 30 days or has experienced the following symptoms: fever, cough or shortness of breath.  If any of these symptoms are identified, we will require that the participant not to return until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or symptom-altering medications.  In addition, Jane’s Place has suspended all incoming entertainment sources, students and volunteers.  We have limited our visitors to one family member per participant.  Also, Jane’s Place staff will facilitate all activities within the Jane’s Place setting, only.

If you or your loved one feels ill, please, be sure to contact us and stay home.  If you have any questions or concerns, please, feel free to contact us.  For the latest information on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov.

Respectfully,
Crystal Hughes, Program Administrator
